Training and Education

State Records of South Australia has developed training and education courses to:

  • fulfil its requirements as specified under the State Records Act, 1997
  • ensure a working understanding of the Freedom of Information Act, 1991 and enable participants to process FOI applications
  • ensure that agencies are aware of their responsibilities under the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs).

State Records training courses have been developed to up-skill records management practitioners in government to more effectively develop and implement their agency's strategic recordkeeping programs and operational systems, tools and practices.

The records management awareness courses have been designed to inform all South Australian Government staff of the need for, and benefits and principles of, sound records management practices within the workplace.

FOI awareness courses have been developed so that South Australian Government staff are aware of their obligations under the FOI act.

State Records promotes and supports South Australian Government staff to achieve best practice records management. We offer quality-accredited training to State and Local Government and South Australian universities. Our training assists agencies to achieve Adequate Records Management practices, tools and systems.

State Records ensures its training courses do not discriminate against people with disabilities. We are committed to continuously evaluating, reviewing and developing our training and education programs in order to satisfy customer requirements and expectations.
