Privacy information sheets and guidelines are developed as practical guides to issues concerning information privacy in South Australian Government agencies. They aim to support agencies to meet their obligations under the South Australian Government's Information Privacy Principles Instruction.
In utilising photographic images or video footage agencies must ensure that they are not breaching their obligations under the Government's Information Privacy Principles Instruction. This information sheet provides guidance to agencies on managing the use of photographs while maintaining respect for individual privacy.
Most State Government agencies collect and use personal information provided by the public when accessing government services. All government employees have an obligation to manage this information appropriately. This information sheet provides a summary of the Government's Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) and outlines what South Australian Government employees need to know to ensure they meet their obligations under the IPPs.
This information sheet provides advice to agencies on their obligations under the Information Privacy Principles when engaging a contracted service provider to provide services on behalf of Government. The information sheet also introduces a set of model terms and conditions an agency can use when entering into a contract for service that will involve the handling of personal information.
These model terms and conditions have been developed by the Crown Solicitor's Office to assist agencies to meet their obligations under the Information Privacy Principles Instruction, issued as Premier and Cabinet Circular 12, and the Contracting and Official Records Standard issued under the State Records Act, 1997.
