Information Privacy Principles Instruction

The State Government of South Australia is committed to protecting the privacy of your information. In 1992, the State Government of South Australia issued a set of Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) to regulate the way personal information can be collected, used, stored and disclosed.

Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988

Under the Commonwealth Privacy Act, 1988, the Federal Government has an interest in ensuring the privacy of your information where it relates to Federal Departments and private businesses.

In February 2002 the South Australian Crown Solicitors Office released Legal Bulletin Number 29, providing advice to South Australian agencies on the effect of the Commonwealth Privacy Act.
