Earlier date ranges of GRG 28/5 are available on microfilm at both Research Centres. State Records holds a number of series relating to destitute persons and welfare recipients in the following Government Records Groups: - GRG 28 - Destitute Persons Department (1849-1927 [with gaps])
- GRG 27 - State Children's Department (1862-1929 [with gaps])
- GRG 29 - Social Welfare Department (1867-1979 [with gaps]).
